If you are 14 or over you can obtain a work permit which will allow you to apply for jobs being offered by companies. Working for a company can help you to gain valuable experience to get promoted at the current job or work for yourself someday. You can look in the classified ads for work or you can call local companies in your area and see if they have any openings for you to work part time after school. Restaurants and hotels have a variety of different positions that you can do, such as: dishwasher, coat checker, chamber maids, bell hops, waiter or waitress, and food prepare. If you choose a bicycle or florist shop you will be more limited to the job duties you will be able to perform. You will need to fill out an application and interview for the position.
