If you have a green
thumb and like to work in the dirt then this is the job
for you. Remember this job for the most part is seasonal
and takes some planning ahead. If you want to sell
seedlings you can either gather the small sprouts that come
up in your yard in the spring or start from seeds and sell
the little plants for others to plant in their yard. Check
with your local nursery for pricing. Many house plants send
out runners that can be clipped and replanted to grow into
bigger potted plants. You can get many new plants from one
good sized plant. These would be ivy, mint, blackberries,
bamboo and equisetum. Check the library for other types
of plants that you can do this with. As with the seedlings
and house plants you can start growing vegetable plants
and flowers indoors before the growing season starts. When
planting time comes you can either sell the vegetable plants
or flowers you have started or plant them in your garden
to sell once the vegetables are ripe and the flowers are
full size. Once again check with local nursery or grocers
for competitive pricing.
