Before you start on
any of the above projects you should see what the market
is like in your area. Talk to people and see what their
interests are and what things they like to buy. Do some
research by checking with the library, craft stores, discount
stores and art supply stores in your area. This will give
you an idea of the cost to make the items and what you will
need to sell them for so you can make a profit. Your costs
and supplies will vary depending on what items you choose
to make. Some are expensive to make and that is why people
are willing to pay a little more for a hand made item. Decide
beforehand what you are going to focus on. Start out small,
by choosing what you are going to work on. It is very easy
to get overwhelmed and loose money if you start too many
projects at one time. You may want to take a class or check
books out from the library to learn how to make specialty
items.
